PROJECT H.O.O.D. TEAM MEMBER GRADUATES FROM PEACE ACADEMY
On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Project H.O.O.D Assistant Director of Violence Prevention, Lavondale “Big Dale” Glass, graduated from the Metropolitan Peace Academy. The goal of the Academy is to enhance community-level capacity to reduce violence and therefore focuses on developing skills and knowledge rooted in community-driven knowledge while also drawing from research and evidence-based practices. During the classes, graduates delved into a range of topics, from the history of the city’s gangs to generational trauma, to how to interact with the police. The program also provided training on community wellness, conflict resolution, and how to interact effectively with city agencies
