Project H.O.O.D. Construction Program
Skilled Trades Training: CORE and Carpentry Level 1
Project H.O.O.D. (PH) is partnering with the Illinois Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC-IL) to enroll and train up to 20 young men and women, between the ages of 18-30, in a pre-apprenticeship training.
Training and certification are Core and Carpentry Level 1 in a 12-week course. The technical training will be conducted by ABC-IL instructors while additional supportive employment coaching and financial services will also be provided.
According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, construction is high demand in Cook County with over 12,000 contractors employing over 62,000 people. Construction, as other industrial sectors, is suffering from a huge skills gap problem.
